About Rogue Valley Youth Choruses
The Rogue Valley Youth Choruses provide opportunities for talented young singers to participate in choruses of the highest quality. Our three choruses (elementary, middle and high school) provide students in grades 3 through 12 with performance experience in local theaters, area schools, at choral festivals and for community groups. Each choir performs a wide variety of age appropriate choral literature and receives weekly training in vocal development and musicianship. Considered one of our region’s leading youth choirs, RVYC has appeared in concerts in Oregon, Washington, California and Canada.

Auditions
Children’s Choruses
Auditions for the third through fifth grade Children’s Choruses are held three times each year: early September, January, and March, just before each season begins, and May for the following fall season.
Auditions are not difficult and generally take about 10 minutes. Children will be asked to sing “Happy Birthday To You” to check their vocal range. We ask about musical experience, although none is required. We assess each singer’s ability to match pitch. You can assist your child by practicing this skill with them. We understand that a young child’s voice is still developing. If your child is struggling to match pitches, encourage them to practice by singing along with their favorite songs. We want to ensure that no child feels anxious about auditioning. Help your child focus on the sheer joy of singing. For more information, please fill out the contact form below.
Cantare Chorus
Cantare Chorus (grades 6-8) seeks quality singers for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass parts. The choruses offer three open rehearsals, during which interested singers are invited to participate. For more information, please fill out the contact form below.

Tuition
Tuition per concert session is $125, which covers expenses for music, concerts, rehearsal experience, staff stipends. Pay for the first two sessions and get the third session free.
Support Rogue Valley Youth Choruses
Since 1983 the Rogue Valley Youth Choruses has provided enriching musical experiences for school aged children and youth in the Rogue Valley. Many thousands of children have benefitted from involvement in our choral organization and have gone on to pursue further involvement in music as adults.
Maintaining excellence costs money. Purchasing singer outfits and music, paying stipends to our staff, and producing concerts take resources that tuition alone does not cover. Our policy is to never turn away singers because they cannot pay. We rely upon support from our community to bring fine choral opportunities to our young singers. We also do not turn away any singer due to financial challenges. If you are interested in helping to sponsor a singer, please reach out to us! We invite you to become a supporter.
